The Balancing Act

Planning is everything, whether it be scheduling time with friends to watch tv shows together, meal prepping or even planning when to take your lunch break at work; humans are always thinking ahead.

Well, making a digital marketing proposal is no different, and with internal and external influences, SMART objectives to set, KPI’s to achieve, Metrics to review (the list goes on…), there is a lot to consider. If you feel overwhelmed by the whole experience, don’t worry, many are in the same boat!

Side note:
Reaching out to a mentor or someone you look up to in the industry can help you overcome any anxieties you have. This can be achieved by a message on LinkedIn, Email or, (depending on the person) social media.  A simple ‘Hi… my name is .. and I was wondering if I could ask you to mentor me in this project/ answer this question…” could do you the world of good. Just remember, the worst they could do is say no (and then you can just ask someone else).

When planning and making a digital marketing proposal, It is essential for it to convey the idea and competitive advantage for the business or person you are marketing for. The proposal is given to the key individuals in relation to the business (i.e. the stakeholders) to communicate to them the direction that the marketing is going to go in and any other essential information such as the budget. You have to please the owners of the business and yet, create something that is also attractive to the target so that both their experiences are value adding.

It’s like a balancing act.

It is important to try and ‘balance’ all individuals as There is a positive correlation between the capability of the marketer and stakeholder satisfaction.
Why may this be the case?
Well, when you think about it. A well devised marketing strategy, leads to benefits to the business such as (possibly):

Here is something to think about:
People now argue the importance to have ‘financially alert marketers‘, being marketers who can go the extra mile and not only generate ideas and marketing concepts in their digital marketing proposal but, can also highlight areas to save/make money.

What do you think ?
